The Régie du Service de Sécurité incendie de la Vallée de la Rouge was officially founded in 2020 following the merger of the municipalities of Lac-Saguay, La Macaza, and Rivière-Rouge.
This initiative aimed to pool resources to optimize staffing, provide a more robust fire response force, and meet the requirements of the MRC’s Risk Coverage Plan.
For the past six years, the organization has been led by Director Sylvain Charette and has evolved significantly, becoming a training manager and operating its own training center.
Today, the Régie has approximately 35 part-time firefighters, two full-time firefighters, a prevention officer, and administrative support staff.
